Title: About the artist

I have always enjoyed pushing the envelope of self expression – in all its forms. It is the solitary uniqueness of the individual artist that makes all art truly vibrant and masterful. This is how I pursue my art, – and moreover my life.

I have been a life-long companion to the arts. From a very young age on, I found my passion while involved in visual, literary and musical education and expression. I have spent the past two decades honing my craft through extensive personal study, research, and specialized training. Refining and redefining my work as I continue to forge ahead is a never ending journey of passion and love.

If asked I would say that the majority of my work falls under the Abstract/Expressionistic art classification. I would certainly not limit myself though to one style. I can (and do) produce works based from a variety of other genres outside of the A.E. realm. Some others include: Cubism, Impressionism, Surrealism & other Modernistic art methodologies. My mediums include acrylics, oils, and a wide variety of mixed media’s. Generally they are produced on canvas, but I do work from other platforms.

I must say that I am a huge fan of both Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso, especially during the early 1900′s when Cubism had it’s day. I enjoy all forms of Cubism: Analytical Cubism, Synthetic Cubism and Crystalline Geometry. I thoroughly enjoy creating works derived from this era – with my own personal flare, while maintaining the use of the Cubism and Geometric design tools from Braque & Picasso as my foundation.

Matt ZedlerI will attempt to keep a variety of styles represented at my studio/gallery, and as well this website, at any given time. There will always be many more available finished works available in my studio/gallery (in both coloration and style) than depicted on this website. My goal is to maintain a minimum body of completed works at 40-50 pieces at any given time.

Viewing is currently by appointment or during open gallery/studio days. Additionally we are open on occasion during French Broad Friday’s. French Broad Friday’s is an art and music oriented gathering in Marshall, NC that commences every Second Friday of the month, from about 5:30-9PM, Spring through Fall.
